libhepmcinterface8-dev software package provides HepMC interface for PYTHIA8 - development files (obsolete), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libhepmcinterface8-dev
libhepmcinterface8-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libhepmcinterface8-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libhepmcinterface8-dev *
You will get with libhepmcinterface8-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
